1. Notice at collection: what we collect and why
This section summarizes, by category, the personal information we collect, where it comes from, why we use it and how long we keep it. More detail follows below. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we have not done so in the past 12 months.
Identifiers and contact details (name, email, mobile number, account ID, sign-in from Apple or Google): from you and your sign-in provider. Used to run your account, bookings, payments, support and safety messages. Kept while your account is open; when you delete your account, your name and number are removed (see Retention).
Customer and booking records (vehicles, service addresses and access notes, bookings, prices, tips, payment status, messages, reviews, problem reports): from you, the other person in the booking and Stripe. Used to provide and pay for services, resolve disputes, prevent fraud and meet tax and legal duties. Kept as described in Retention.
Pro business and professional information (business details, service area, services, prices, availability, photos of work, insurance certificates and licenses you upload, identity check result): from you and Stripe. Used to show your profile, verify you and keep the Platform safe.
Photos and files (job photos, profile photos, uploaded documents): from you. Used for profiles, records of the job and disputes.
Geolocation (precise location of Pros while "Available now" is on and at check-in; customers' location only while they search, not stored): from your device with your permission. Used to show nearby Pros and booking records.
Support conversations, including with our AI assistant: from you and our team. Used to answer questions and handle problems.
Device and usage information (app version, device type, notification token, crash reports): from your device. Used to send notifications, fix problems and keep the Platform secure.
Website sign-ups (Founding Pro applications and the customer waitlist: name, business name, phone, email, ZIP code, services, language, your consent choices): from you. Used to contact you about joining or about our launch in your area.
Sensitive personal information we collect: precise geolocation (Pros), account sign-in details, and the result of the identity check done by Stripe Identity (Stripe handles the ID images and selfie; we do not receive them). See "Sensitive personal information" below.
2. More about what we collect
Account information: name, email, mobile phone number (required), your consent to receive calls and texts (with the date and version of the consent), language, and sign-in details from Apple or Google if you use them (we receive your name and email, not your password).
Customer information: your vehicles (make, model, type and color), service addresses and access notes, bookings, tips, messages, reviews, support requests and reports you make.
Pro information: business details, service area, services, prices, availability, cancellation policy, photos of work, and documents you choose to upload, such as an insurance certificate or business license. Our team reviews photos you add to your public profile before they are shown.
Identity verification (Pros): identity checks are done by Stripe Identity. Stripe collects a photo of your government ID and a selfie and may use facial recognition technology to confirm they match. Stripe processes this information under its own privacy policy; we receive the result of the check and a reference number, not the images.
Location: (1) Customers: your location when you use "Use my location" or the "Available now" map, while you are using the app, to find Pros near you; we do not store it. (2) Pros, at check-in: your location when you tap "I've arrived", saved with the booking record. (3) Pros, "Available now": while "Available now" is on, your device location, including in the background when the app is closed if you allow it, about once a minute. We keep only your most recent location, show customers an approximate area (about 1 km), and delete it when you turn "Available now" off (or within about an hour after updates stop). Collection stops when you turn "Available now" off, start a job, or after 12 hours. We do not use location for advertising.
Payment information is collected and processed by Stripe; we receive limited details such as card brand, last four digits, payment status and payout status.
Device and usage information: app version, device type, notification token (to send you notifications), crash reports and how the Platform is used. We do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking tools in the app or on our website.
3. How we use information
To run the Platform: create accounts, show Pro profiles, search results and the "Available now" map, handle bookings, payments, tips and messages, verify Pros, provide support, prevent fraud and abuse, enforce our terms, improve the Platform, and comply with law.
To keep the Platform safe: reviews and replies are automatically checked for offensive language, and we review reports of users, messages and reviews.
AI support assistant: when you write to support about everyday questions, Rodenzo Assistant, an AI, answers first and is always labelled as AI. To reply, it uses your messages and the details of your own bookings (such as status, time, services, price and payment status). It can suggest actions, but nothing changes until you confirm. You can ask for a person at any time, and our team reviews conversations it hands over. Safety, damage, missing-item and no-show reports go straight to our team.
Marketing: we may send you offers and news by email (unsubscribe anytime with the link in each email or in the app under Notifications & offers). We send marketing text messages only if you opted in, and marketing notifications only if you turned them on; you can stop either at any time (reply STOP to texts). We keep a record of your choices and when you made them.
To communicate with you about your account and bookings, including push notifications (which you can turn off in your device settings) and calls and text messages to your mobile number about bookings, payments, support and safety (reply STOP to stop texts).
Messages and booking records: we may review messages between customers and Pros, job photos, check-in locations, support conversations and booking records to provide support, resolve disputes, investigate damage or safety reports, prevent fraud and respond to legal requests. Only authorized staff can do this, and each time is logged.
4. How we share information
Between customers and Pros: when you book, the Pro sees your name, each vehicle's type and color (not its make or model), booking details and service address (the full address only after the booking is confirmed). Customers see a Pro's public profile and, while the Pro is "Available now", their approximate area. Reviews are shown without the reviewer's name. Phone numbers are not shown publicly.
Service providers that help us run the Platform under contracts that protect your information, including hosting and database (Supabase), payments and identity verification (Stripe), push notifications (Expo, Apple and Google), maps (Apple and Google), our AI support assistant (Anthropic, which processes support conversations to generate replies and, under its commercial terms, does not use them to train its models), and email and SMS delivery.
Legal and safety: when required by law, to respond to legal process, or to protect the rights, safety and property of users, the public or us. In a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not sell, rent or share your mobile phone number or your consent to receive text messages with third parties for their marketing purposes. We do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing. Your number is never shown to other users; text messages are sent through service providers only to deliver Rodenzo's own messages.
5. Sensitive personal information and your right to limit
Our sensitive personal information is precise geolocation of Pros, account sign-in details, and identity check results from Stripe Identity. We use and disclose it only to provide the services you ask for, to keep the Platform and its users safe and secure, to prevent fraud, and to comply with law. We do not use it to infer characteristics about you or for advertising.
California residents have the right to limit the use and disclosure of sensitive personal information to those purposes. Because we already use it only for them, there is nothing further to switch off, but you can still contact us at support@rodenzo.com or through Support in the app, and we will confirm. If we ever want to use it for another purpose, we will update this policy and offer a way to limit it first.
6. Retention
We keep each kind of information only as long as needed for the purposes above, then delete or de-identify it. A longer period may apply while a dispute, investigation or legal claim is open, or if a law requires it.
Account information: while your account is open. If you delete your account, we remove your name, phone number, saved vehicles and addresses and notification tokens.
Booking records (including messages, job photos, check-in locations, reviews and payments): while the accounts involved are open. If you delete your account, records of bookings you were part of are kept for 5 years from the booking (or a different period if a law requires it), because the other person and the law may need them, and then deleted.
Support conversations, including conversations with our AI assistant: up to 3 years after the conversation ends.
Photos and files: job photos are kept with the booking record. Profile photos are kept until you remove them or your profile is closed; photos we reject in review are deleted. Insurance certificates and licenses are kept while your profile is active and for up to 3 years after they expire, are replaced or your profile is closed.
Pro applications and waitlist sign-ups from our website: up to 2 years after you sign up, or sooner if you ask us to delete them. If you become a Pro, your application becomes part of your account record.
"Available now" location: only your most recent location, deleted when you turn it off (or within about an hour after updates stop). Records of your consent and legal acceptances: while your account is open and for 5 years after, as proof of what you agreed to.
7. Security
We use reasonable safeguards, including encryption in transit and access controls; verification documents are stored privately and visible only to our review team. No system is completely secure.
8. Your choices and California privacy rights
You can review and update your profile in the app at any time, and you can delete your account in the app (Account › Delete my account) or by emailing us. You can turn off location access and notifications at any time in your device settings; some features (such as "Available now" and finding Pros near you) will not work without location.
If you are a California resident, you have the right to: know what personal information we collect, use and disclose, and get a copy of it in a portable format; correct inaccurate personal information; delete personal information (with exceptions the law allows, such as booking records we must keep); opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (we do not sell or share it); limit the use of sensitive personal information (see above); and not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
How to make a request: email support@rodenzo.com or write to Support in the app. We will confirm we received your request within 10 business days and respond within 45 days. If we need more time (up to another 45 days), we will tell you why. We will verify your identity before responding, usually by matching the email or phone number on your account, and we may ask for more information if needed.
Authorized agents: you may use an authorized agent to make a request for you. We will ask the agent for your signed permission, and we may ask you to verify your identity with us directly, unless the agent has a valid power of attorney.
Non-discrimination: we will not deny you services, charge you a different price, or give you a different level of service because you exercised your privacy rights.
9. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
We do not track you across other companies' websites or apps, and we do not allow third parties to do so through our Platform. Our website does not respond differently to browser "Do Not Track" signals, because there is no such tracking to turn off.
We treat a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal from your browser or device as a valid request to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information for that browser or device. Because we do not sell or share personal information, no further action is needed, and you do not need to send us a separate request.
10. Children
You must be at least 18 to use the Platform. The Platform is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If we learn that we have, we will delete it.
11. Changes and contact
We may update this policy. The effective date at the top shows when it last changed. We will notify you of material changes in the app or by email and, where required, ask you to accept the new version.
